This guide explains how to connect your Snowflake data warehouse to mParticle for Composable Audiences. The setup process is interactive: as you enter values in the mParticle UI form, the SQL snippets on the right-hand side will update. You’ll copy those snippets and run them in Snowflake to configure the necessary resources.

\nA configured connection that allows mParticle to securely query your Snowflake warehouse to build and manage Composable Audiences.

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Step 1: Begin creating the connection in mParticle

  1. In the mParticle UI, go to Data Warehouse > Connections.
    2. \n
  2. Click + Add Connection and select Snowflake.
    3. \n
  3. \n

    Enter the required fields:

As you enter these values, the SQL snippets on the right-hand side will update to include your account-specific details.

\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Step 2: Apply the generated SQL snippets in Snowflake

Follow the steps shown in the mParticle UI. For each one, copy the SQL and run it in your Snowflake worksheet, making sure that each placeholder is replaced with the appropriate value for your account:

  1. Create a service user and role
    \nDefine a new service user dedicated to mParticle, along with a role. See Snowflake user management for more info.

  2. Configure storage integration and access
    \nRun the SQL provided to create a storage integration.

  1. Grant write access to mParticle schema\nAudiences requires a dedicated schema named MPARTICLE to store temporary data and intermediate results. Run the provided SQL to create and grant the necessary access to the MPARTICLE schema.
